Shelli is an empty nester, contentedly tucked behind the pine curtain of East Texas, where she lives with her hunky husband and their neurotic mastador, Roxy.
With her creative writing degree from SMU, her multiple speaker certifications, and her many years in the corporate world, she’s known for being nerdy, wordy, and wise—bringing warmth, wit, and well-placed metaphors to every page and stage.
By day, she serves as a Director of Client Services for one of the world’s largest third-party administrators. By heart, she’s a storyteller, teacher, and encourager—whether she’s inspiring women to rise resilient, helping writers find their voice, or equipping corporate teams to lead with purpose.

This workshop wraps with open-mic-style readings from volunteers who want to share what they’ve written in front of a live, encouraging audience where they’re sure to get laughs and well-deserved applause.
